PRODUCT REVIEW: Sauces 'n Love Vegan Pesto

When I began taking my dairy allergy seriously (by eliminating all cheese & milk products), something that I truly missed was pesto. Tomato sauce is pretty much not an option, as tomatoes are another fun allergy that I have. So what's a girl to do when she wants to add some fun toppings to meals?

Find some cheese-free pesto, that's what!

Believe it or not, most pre-made pestos have some cheese in them (no wonder they are so delicious), so I hadn't ever look for a cheese-less pesto -- I simply didn't think that they existed. This was until a few weeks ago, when I was slowly wandering through Whole Foods, looking at all of the fun health foods (and letting all of the people who like to rush through the grocery store shove by me). I found a brand called Sauces 'n Love. They make a wide variety fresh pastas, sauces, cheese spread dips, pesto...AND VEGAN (aka dairy-free) PESTO!

Now I could probably make this pesto myself at home, and maybe one day I will. Right now, though, I: a.) absolutely love supporting this local company (yay New England!), and b.) am too busy/not in the mood to make a jar of pesto from scratch. Snaps for convenient condiments!

This pesto tastes remarkably the same as regular pesto, but without the cheese-y flavor because, well, there's no cheese. Duh.

It's got a peppery-garlic kick to it, and because it's so flavorful, I only need to add about 1/2 to 1 tablespoon to salads, grilled chicken, sweet potatoes, or brown rice pasta

The ingredients are minimal, which is something I also appreciate! The list goes as follows: Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Sunflower Oil, Basil, Pinenuts, Garlic, Salt, Black Pepper.

I've only been able to find this pesto at Whole Foods, but I'm sure there are other places that it can be found. Here's their website, if you'd like to check out more of their products! I doubt you'll be disappointed :)

Have a great day, everyone!

I will always mention if a post is supported by the brand that I'm talking about. This post is not sponsored by this company. I simply love a product of theirs, and I think you will as well!
